Designed by Lucian Ercolani, 1956

A direct descendant of the beloved Windsor chair, the EVERGREEN CHAIR is a classic piece of mid-century design from 1958. Echoing Lucian Ercolani’s signature merger of tradition and innovation, the EVERGREEN CHAIR is a humble, timeless reference to the epochal Windsor silhouette.

The reliable, welcoming form of the EVERGREEN CHAIR can be attributed to its precise, ergonomic construction. Comforting details such as a bouncy, webbed base and upturned armrests ensure a supportive, leisurely sit. Comb joints add strength and durability while traditional Windsor joinery reinforces the EVERGREEN CHAIR’s steam-bent structure.

Built in solid ash, the EVERGREEN CHAIR is offered in nine bespoke finishes, including a soothing natural finish and the new, bold MODERN TONES series by Christian Møller Andersen. The EVERGREEN CHAIR is also available in a variety of harmonious textiles and colour-palettes.

Product Description

A direct descendant of the beloved Windsor chair, the EVERGREEN CHAIR is a classic piece of mid-century design from 1958. Echoing Lucian Ercolani’s signature merger of tradition and innovation, the EVERGREEN CHAIR is a humble, timeless reference to the epochal Windsor silhouette.

Comfort is an integral component of the EVERGREEN CHAIR’s intimate, homey appeal. Enticing plush foam upholstery and a wide, relaxed stance make the chair an attractive addition to a wide range of contemporary living spaces, including lounge areas, living rooms and conservatories. Designed to inspire wellbeing and contentment, the EVERGREEN CHAIR is upholstered with soft, tactile fabrics, weaving a rich, multi-faceted experience that engages and delights the senses.

The reliable, welcoming form of the EVERGREEN CHAIR can be attributed to its precise, ergonomic construction. Comforting details such as a bouncy, webbed base and upturned armrests ensure a supportive, leisurely sit. Comb joints add strength and durability while traditional Windsor wedge and tenon joinery reinforces the EVERGREEN CHAIR’s steam-bent structure. In this technique, the chair’s legs are extended through the seat and secured with a wedge. These joints are then sanded until they lie flush with the seat to create a strong and durable base, built to withstand the wear and tear of everyday use.

Built in solid ash, the EVERGREEN CHAIR is offered in nine bespoke finishes, including a soothing natural finish and the new, bold MODERN TONES series by Christian Møller Andersen. Inspired by the modernist design movement, the MODERN TONES series imbues a rich, tactile warmth and sensory allure — reconstructing the visual appeal of classic forms in new, often unexpected ways. The EVERGREEN CHAIR is also available in a variety of harmonious textiles and colour-palettes.
