Product Description

Taking its name from the fluid, sweeping lines produced by steam-bent timber, the FLOW CHAIR was born out of a collaboration with contemporary Japanese designer, Tomoko Azumi. A practice in cultivated refinement, the chair’s smooth, flowing form is a gentle reminder to slow down and return to a more purposeful, conscious state of mind. The FLOW CHAIR exemplifies the warm, generous elegance of modern Japanese design, subtly revealing its essence through soft, emotive cues.

Developed in 2015, the ergonomic curvature of the FLOW CHAIR reflects Azumi’s desire to promote wellbeing and inner alignment through good design — enabling her work to assume a more central, meaningful role in users’ lives. With sinuous, tapered legs built to stack easily when not in use, the FLOW CHAIR balances function and beauty in a harmonious, graceful profile.

The innate versatility of the FLOW CHAIR makes it a suitable accessory for a multitude of different settings, from corporate workspaces to intimate dining locales and homey private residences. Regardless of the surrounding environment, the FLOW CHAIR provides a balanced, supportive seat from which to appreciate the precious, transient moments that life bestows.

Manufactured in solid ash timber, the FLOW CHAIR is offered in a selection of bespoke finishes, including a natural finish and the new MODERN TONES series by Christian Møller Andersen. Inspired by the modernist design movement, the MODERN TONES series imbues a rich, tactile warmth and sensory appeal — reconstructing the visual appeal of classic forms in new, often unexpected ways.
