Designed in 1956, the LOVESEAT reflects Lucian Ercolani’s discerning eye for detail and features his signature blend of beauty and functionality. By reducing his designs to their most simplistic, elemental form, Ercolani was able to draw attention to the grounding and haptic qualities of natural wood. Enduring, tactile and ageless, Ercolani’s creations echo the designer’s heartfelt calling to his craft and remain equally as beautiful and relevant as they were in previous decades.

Loosely inspired by the silhouette of the Windsor chair, the LOVESEAT features a moulded timber seat and spindle back-rest, gently curved to align with the body’s natural contours and provide optimal comfort. The LOVESEAT exhibits traditional Windsor wedge and tenon joinery techniques, in which the loveseat’s legs are extended through the seat and secured with a wedge. These joints are then sanded until they lie flush with the seat to create a strong and durable base, built to withstand the demands of daily life.

The LOVESEAT is offered in both solid ash and walnut timber. The ash variation is also available in nine bespoke finishes, including a soothing natural finish and the new, bold MODERN TONES series by Christian Møller Andersen.
