A limited-edition collaboration between L.Ercolani and interior design duo, 2LG Studio. The L.Ercolani x 2LG collection is a bold step into a world where furniture becomes art, craftsmanship meets creativity, and every piece tells a story.

The Butterfly Chair is an iconic everyday dining chair designed by Lucian Ercolani in 1956. The subtle curves and sculptural refinement of the Butterfly Chair have transformed the chair into a beloved mid-century classic. Featuring a traditional Windsor wedge and tenon joinery, a technique in which the chair’s legs are extended through the seat and secured with a wedge. Offered in ash timber with an ash veneer steam-bent ply seat and back, the Butterfly Chair is an attractive and eye-catching accompaniment to the heartening ritual of dining with loved ones.

L.Ercolani x 2LG collaboration has launched two limited-edition versions of the Butterfly Chair named after the design duo: Jordan and Russell.

The ‘Jordan’ Butterfly Chair X 2LG encapsulates a combination of soothing mauve with a splash of orange, yellow and green. The ‘Jordan’ is part of the soft-seating collection, introduced in 2022, upholstered with a cushioning seat pad in Kvadrat Vidar 4, 0526.

The ‘Russell’ Butterfly Chair X 2LG is blanketed in beautiful blues and soft pastels with a wooden seat detailing the wooden grain through the vivid stains.

The Butterfly Chair is one of nine limited-edition L.Ercolani pieces included in the creative collaboration with 2LG for London Design Fair 2023. The pieces will be on display at Truman Brewery, London between 21st – 24th September 2023.
